You won't find Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2's real-world skaters, but that's okay. Altogether, the characters give OlliOlli World an endearing face, something that the previous series entries lacked. Finally, there’s Dad, who owns the Rad Dad skate shop where you pick up cosmetic items (it wasn't available in the demo build). Suze is a filmmaker, the personification of the new Photo Mode. ![]() Chiffon, a psychic, acts as a checkpoint. The burly Gnarly Mike offers course challenges to increase your score. There’s a squad of diverse skateboarders who introduce you to the various parts of the OlliOlli World experience. With this new look comes personality-filled characters. It’s a cartoon world full of elongated limbs and stretched smiles, where you’ll grind past rotund bumblebees and soft drinks. Instead of using sprites, OlliOlli World has a 3D, bubblegum-style aesthetic. The regions sport different color palettes and environmental clutter, but they share OlliOlli World’s new look. The game’s promotional art highlights more levels to come: Burntrock, a desert wasteland of old bones and cacti Los Vulgas, a Las Vegas-style zone of bright lights and ancient pyramids and Sketchside, a decayed industrial zone. You’ll cruise across five themed regions, two of which were available in my demo build: Sunshine Valley (beachside fun, with tourists, boardwalks, and bodybuilding pigeons) and Cloverbrook (a haunted forest where old skateboards return to where they were born). While OlliOlli and OlliOlli 2’s tracks featured random pixel art, Radlandia gives OlliOlli World a cohesive visual style. ![]() The $29.99 OlliOlli World drops you into Radlandia, a funhouse mirror version of our reality. Just a few minutes with the OlliOlli World demo convinced us that series fans should keep their eyes on this PC game when it launches later this year. OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood added manuals that let you create huge trick chains across entire levels. With the upcoming OlliOlli World, Roll7 combines the previous games’ simple control schemes with a vastly expanded world, new visual flair, and fun characters. OlliOlli was an endless runner-you only stopped when you ate pavement-that tasked you with surviving obstacle courses and pulling off sick tricks. In 2014, developer Roll7 burst onto the gaming scene with OlliOlli, a different take on skateboarding video games.
